The 2022 Australian Championships have been completed at Adelaide Sailing Club.
Light winds saw only 2 races on day 1, with no racing on day 2, however 5 races were completed for all divisions by the end of the final day.
Experienced sailors shone, with local Bob Schahinger taking out another Liberty title, in front of Charles Weatherly (VIC) and Neil Rowsthorn (QLD).
Victoria's Bruce James sailed consistenly in the 303 singles, winning 3 of the 5 races in front of WA's Robert Crofts and Victorian teen Cooper Brown in 3rd.
World Champions in the 303 Doubles, Chris Symonds and Manuella Klinger had a near perfect regatta winning 4 of 5 races, but Victoria brother and sister duo, Sarah and Craig Millsom, thrilled the competitors by taking out race 3, giving them 2nd position overall in front of NSW's Sarah Plunkett and John Sanderson.
The President's Trophy, awarded to the sailor who scores most points across all the State and National Championships was awarded to Robert Crofts (WA). Robert competed in the WA, VIC and NSW events, as well as the Nationals and will head back to NSW this week to jump into a SKUD18!
Consistent sailing across all divisions saw Team Victoria awarded the State Teams trophy for the 5th consecutive year.

The 2023 Australian Nationals will be held at Wynyard Yacht Club in Tasmania at Easter.
Finally, despite the lack of wind, the competitors all had a great time, summed up by Victorian sailor Evan Milne, sailing at his first Nationals. He posted on Facebook - "An extremely positive feel amongst the whole Hansa community and the Adelaide Sailing Club. What a privilege to have had the opportunity to experience such a challenging yet rewarding time. A massive shout out to all the organisers and assistants but particularly to Alison and Craig for their leadership and readiness to enable Team Vic to perform at their best. Thanks heaps to all and Congratulations, especially to those who achieved brilliant results all to all who brought their best to these Championships!! Spread the word about Hansa sailing ".
